Professional Responsibility & Growth

Standard 7.

Teachers assume responsibility for professional growth, performance and involvement as an individual and as a member of a learning community

During my tenure at WHHS, I have taken the initiative to engage in observations, receive coaching, and attend non-mandatory professional development sessions. I have also completed my Masters in Education and advanced my CTE license.

In the 2020/2021 school year, I participated in a SkillsUSA professional development workshop for faculty advisors during the first semester. I also attended the year-long “Collaborating for Teacher Excellence” workshops organized by the Ohio Department of Education.

In the spring semester of 2021, I had the chance to guide another teacher in project-based learning. During the 2021-2022 school year, I served as the department chair for the Unified Arts department. I also served as the point of contact for the district’s culturally responsive teaching initiative, leading the high school teachers.
